README for Near Infrared flights in 2016 DESCRIPTION This folder is a consolidation of all Near Infrared (NIR) images captured and products processed for the Vulci plateau and Cucumella necropolis areas in 2016. All images were captured at an altitude of 85 m, resulting in an average GSD of 3.65 cm for the 3.1366 square kilometer area. All images are geolocated, as are the processed products (orthomosaics and digital surface models). The Near Infrared Data (2016) folder and subfolder contents are as follows: > Vulci NIR 85m Geolocated Images > 2,862 geolocated JPG images (latitude, longitude and altitude can be found in image metadata as well as in geoinfo text files in 2_DailyFlights (2016 and 2017) folders) > Vulci NIR 85m Processed Products > 1_initial: contains the Pix4D quality report (.pdf), project data and parameters from image processing > 2_densification: contains 3d mesh, point cloud (.las) and project data from point cloud generation > 3_dsm_ortho: contains digital surface model (.tif), orthomosaic (.tif) and Pix4D project data > 4_index: contains example of relectance (.tif) project data METHODS All 2,862 NIR images for 2016 were captured with a legacy eBee drone and a Canon Powershot S110 camera. The processed products were produced by combining data from each NIR flight in 2016. Pix4D (version 2.1.61) was used to create products for the entirety of the area flown. Image processing settings and other details can be found in the Pix4D quality report. ------------------------------------------------------- This readme file was created on 12/20/22 by Everette Newton and Cristiana Falvo.
