README for raw imagery DESCRIPTION Each folder contains subfolders representing a single drone survey of a site. Each subfolder contains unprocessed photography from the drone. The altitude and clock metadata are unreliable. METHODS Drone surveys consisted of 1 or more overpasses attempting complete coverage of a site. By convention, a single-pass survey was labeled a 'survey' and a multiple-pass survey was called a 'map'. Surveys targeted a very fine ground sampling distance (GSD) of ~1.5 cm for detailed coverage, whereas maps targeted a very fine GSD (~1.5 cm), a slightly coarser GSD (~3 cm), and often oblique coverage to achieve high spatial accuracy in the DSM and orthomosaic products. Some folders contain notes concerning seal disturbance, if seals were disturbed in the coarse disembarking the zodiac (Dream 2.13.20, Dream 3.8.20), transiting to a take-off location (Joubins-1 2.18.20), launching the drone (Humble 2.4.20), or adjacent research operations (Dream 3.21.20). These are chiefly important for studies pertaining to pinniped spatial dynamics and might have little or no bearing on other topics. ------------------------------------------------------- This readme file was created on 9/26/22 by Greg Larsen.
