- An interview with Shandiin Herrera by Meghan Quinlan. Conducted September 14, 2021 via Zoom. Shandiin Herrera grew up on the Navajo Nation in Monument Valley, Utah and graduated from Duke University in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy from the Sanford School of Public Policy. In 2019, she was selected as a Champion for Change for the Center for Native American Youth. Herrera co-founded the Navajo & Hopi Families COVID-19 Relief Fund which transformed into the Native women run nonprofit Yee Ha'ónlíi Doo.
