Derks, Grace

• An interview with Grace Derks by Jill Jacobs. Conducted October 23, 2021. While Grace Derks has always been interested in helping others, she became immersed in the fight for women’s rights, specifically sexual and reproductive health, after the 2016 election of Donald Trump. On the first day of his presidency, Derks attended the Women’s March on Washington to advocate for women’s rights. Since then, she has been president of her school’s Humanitarian Student Union, worked as the social media and communications intern for NGO CSW/NY, and the Women’s Global Education Project. Derks plans to continue her work with activism in her future career.
