Data from: Catecholamine-mediated release of miR-133a-3p from adipocytes regulates the onset of chronic primary pain

Public

  • Description of methods used for collection/generation of data: Using the TaqMan (R) OpenArray (R) Rodent MicroRNA Panel (ThermoFisher Cat No. 4461105), high-throughput RT-qPCR was performed to measure the expression of microRNAs between experimental groups using the methods recommended by the supplier.

Experimental conditions: 5 female rats per group. 3 groups. Using 2 osmotic mini pumps for subcutaneous drug delivery, rats were either treated with the COMT enzyme inhibitor OR486 or vehicle in one mini pump and the beta-2 and beta-3 adrenergic receptor inhibitors ICI-118,551 and SR 59230A or respective vehicles. The groups represented in the data set are: "vv" = Vehicle/Vehicle, "orv" = OR486/Vehicle, and "oris" = OR486/ICI-118,551 and SR 59230A. Whole blood from rats were collected after 14 days of treatment, then centrifuged to isolate plasma. RNA was isolated from plasma using a RNA isolation from plasma kit (ThermoFisher) before cDNA synthesis. Synthesized cDNA was then used for the standard OpenArray protocol.

Publication under review will list more detailed methods for RNA isolation.
