  • An interview with Ishanvi Malayanil conducted via Zoom by Emily Wang on October 9, 2023. Ishanvi Malayanil (she/her) is a gender equality activist and current sophomore at Duke University. She began her work with UN Women, aiming to increase the representation of adolescent girls in policy spaces. Malayanil has also partnered with organizations, such as the World Health Organization, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and the Gucci Changemaker’s Initiative to institutionalize input from adolescent girls. She has helped to establish the Generation Equality Adolescent Mobilization Committee, which serves as the only form of institutionalization for adolescent representation at the Generational Equality Forum.
