- These datasets show the biophysical extent of reforestation, restoration, and conservation opportunities for on-the-ground management actions for natural and working lands that sequester/store carbon and support habitat and community resilience in North Carolina. Management actions include conservation of existing forest land (including forests managed for harvest), reforestation, coordinated flood-related buyouts and floodplain restoration, and protection of coastal salt marsh migration corridors. Many of these data layers were used to estimate geographic scope, resilience potential, carbon sequestration and storage potential, and co-benefits for many of the recommendations in the North Carolina Natural and Working Lands Action Plan.
