- An interview with Alora Young by Isabel Oliver. Conducted November 12, 2021 via Zoom. Alora Young is a poet and activist from Nashville, Tennessee. As Youth Poet Laureate of the Southern United States, she is passionate about the power of using creative language to spread a message. Her non-profit AboveGround is driven by this passion, inspiring children to channel their voices through creative writing. She hopes to learn more about spoken word poetry and its effectiveness in communication in her time at Swarthmore College.
